The product
One block, four things it saves you
AAC is concrete with air in it. That single fact is why it cuts weight, cuts cooling load and cuts site labour — all at the same time.

Lighter walls
Far less dead load than dense block or brick, so columns, beams and foundations can be sized down — or the same structure carries more floors.

Cooler rooms
The air pockets slow heat flow. In Dar es Salaam’s climate that shows up as a lower cooling load and steadier indoor temperature.

Faster walls
Large-format blocks go up with fewer joints and less mortar than small masonry units. Fewer joints also means less plaster to level.

How to compare
Compare the finished wall, not the block
Block price per piece is the number everyone quotes, and it is the one number that decides nothing. Two walls reach the same finish through different amounts of mortar, plaster, labour and waste.
- Blocks per m² of wall — depends on block format, not on price.
- Mortar for bedding and joints — thinner joints, thinner bed.
- Plaster on both faces — the line most often left out of comparisons.
- Labour and output per mason per day — large format blocks change this line the most.
- Site waste and breakage — cut-offs, transport damage, re-work.
